I need to delete a video and some photos sent to me that have taken me over my storage limit

A friend sent me a video via WhatsApp that I opened and watched, but it’s taken me over my storage limit, so I want to delete it, but am unable to.  I’ve tried using the website and app on iPad and iPhone.  This is so frustrating.  

I have the same problem with some photos and videos sent to me in a folder, it’s so annoying!  That person has stopped sharing the folder, but it hasn’t changed anything for me.  

Please help! 🙏🏻

  • Thanks Megan.  I was unable to do it myself, but managed to get my friends to change things at their end, so I’m all good.

    Hi Gilly305, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

    Are you trying to delete the individual files, or the shared folder itself?

    Have you tried these steps to delete the files, or this to leave the shared folder?

    If the issue persists after this, please feel free to reach back out.
