Camera Uploads - change location, more functions.
Allow changing the location of the Camera Uploads folder (and its name, as many suggested before). Allow automatic folder organization based on file origin (or any folder organization). 1. The Camera Uploads folder is anchored to the top of the file directory. If you try to move it, Dropbox will re-create it in the original location. Cloud services should make it a rule to never force any folder locations. Even OneDrive, for all its faults, allows me to move its equivalent of Camera Uploads anywhere I want (but it will stubbornly keep creating Chats with AI folders, even though I never chat with Copilot). It is a minor thing, but it is annoying to see Camera Uploads outside of my Full Media Archive folder. 2. Camera Uploads shouldn't be a landfill. I personally generate about 250 videos and 10,000 photos a year across mobile devices. Untangling this rats' nest at the end of the year is a nightmare. Allow at least some grouping based on file origin. OneDrive lets you group by month —it's not much, but it helps. pCloud groups by origin folder on each respective device: phone/images/WhatsApp, phone/videos/WhatsApp, iPad/images, and so on. Kudos for at least being smart enough not to back up files twice once you move them out of the folder. Other clouds require setting "available online only," purging the media on the phone, and then moving the files without creating duplicates.
Implement a "No all" option to skip when uploading duplicate files
App, Android Wenn beim runterladen was schief geht und nicht alle Dateien mitkommen, ok kann passieren. Aber: wenn ich dann nochmal den Download anstoße und dann ja einige Dateien schon vorhanden sind, gibt es bei der Frage "ersetzen?" nur "überspringen"(=nein) "ja" "ja, alle"! Wo ist das "nein, alle"?! So muss ich teilweise seeehr oft auf überspringen klicken, bis endlich alle Fotos vollständig runtergeladen sind... Das kann's doch nich sein?! Nervt mich jetzt schon seit nem halben Jahr ungefähr und hoffe endlich mal auf Hilfe... English : If everything goes smoothly during the download and not all files are included, that can happen. But: when I initiate the download again and some files are already there, the "replace?" question only responds with "skip" (=no) "yes" "yes, all"! Where's the "no, all"?! So sometimes I have to click skip several times until all the photos are finally completely downloaded... That can't be right?! It's been bugging me for half a year now, and I'm finally hoping for some help... Update and repost, after this was closed: Oh no! I thought, that it would be in your to do list now... I would still like to have such an option and I am really waiting for it. Can't believe, that I am the only one missing this option 🥲
Imperative: Camera Uploads Update
Hello. Can you please make it so that people are able to change the name of the "Camera Uploads" without it cancelling the automatic uploads after doing so and also make it so that people can simultaneously upload files from multiple albums in their device into separate folders on Dropbox? This will make it far easier everyone to organize everything, especially when sharing the folder(s) with others. Point 1: As of right now, if someone were to change the name of the "Camera Uploads" folder to something else, let's say to "Andrew's Content," the automatic uploads will completely cancel future automatic uploads into that folder and create a whole entire new folder, again named "Camera Uploads," resulting in 2 separate folders which is inefficient, can lead users to become very confused, and what can be seen as an error in the algorithm from my point of view. Point 2: If a business has multiple people sharing their "Camera Uploads" folder to them, that business has no way to distinguish between which "Camera Uploads" folder belongs to whom, nor is the business able to change the name of the folder for themselves on their end. This is a major problem. Point 3: When people want to set up automatic uploads from multiple albums in their phone named, let's call them 'Content 1,' Content 2,' and 'Content 3,' and have them saved in either the same and/or separate folders in Dropbox, they can't because it is not even a feature. Can you please look into this and make these, what I think would be very beneficial quality of life, updates? Thank you so much for your time and consideration! Thank you, Andrew
Camera Upload filtering & Album organisation.
I would really like to see some key features added to the camera uploads folder. For example, having separators by the year when photos were taken or the ability to filter by location (if available) would be very helpful. Also, a tab for albums would be a nice addition. I'm trying to shift away from using Google Photos for backup and instead rely on my Dropbox plan, since I have plenty of space. If Dropbox could enhance its camera upload backup system, it would be a game changer!
