I would really like to see some key features added to the camera uploads folder. For example, having separators by the year when photos were taken or the ability to filter by location (if available) would be very helpful. Also, a tab for albums would be a nice addition.
I'm trying to shift away from using Google Photos for backup and instead rely on my Dropbox plan, since I have plenty of space. If Dropbox could enhance its camera upload backup system, it would be a game changer!

I strongly support this idea and so many similar ones on posts that have now been closed: I find it frustrating that the camera uploads function remains so basic. I can use "camera uploads" as an emergency backup - but I can't actually use it how I want to: which is to be able to automatically move to my computer, the photo collections that I have already refined, edited and organized into different folders on my phone. And that is profoundly disappointing to me.
I was thrilled to notice a year ago that I can now sync multiple folders from my phone, to camera uploads--- but was so deflated to realize that in the Camera Uploads on my computer I cannot see those folders!! If we can choose folders A, B, and C from our phones, to sync into Camera Uploads, then why in Camera Uploads can we not see folders A, B, and C? That would be a great start.... Thank you!

Hey Dell_Dropbox, the transition hasn’t been smooth because I had to download my existing photos from Google Photos into over 10GB ZIP files before reuploading them to camera uploads. I know there's an upload option from ‘Google Drive,’ but not from 'Google Photos.’ It would be helpful if such a feature were available to make the transition more seamless and allow for background transfer.
Also for me personally even if Dropbox had a separate app for just photo backup and management I wouldn't mind! It would be a direct competitor to Google's photo app really.

Frankiilab how are you generally finding the transition from Google Photos to Dropbox? Other than the upload filtering and album organization, of course.

Dropbox Camera Uploads doesn’t offer filtering or album organization by default — all photos go into the Camera Uploads folder. To organize, you’ll need to sort them manually or use third-party automation tools or scripts.
