Upload speed slow in the Dropbox desktop app, and after uninstallation
Hello my upload speed is very slow on one PC, i have two pc's on my network, my fastest and main pc is now slower when uploading to drop box. I seems this all started after i installed the dropbox app , then removed the app. The second PC uploads as normal the PC that is slow is windows 11, Intel I9 CPU, using either google or edge, dropbox basic I have the bandwith limit turned off in the app, Please help Al
Can deleted photos be retrieved from Deleted Files?
3 days ago I deleted some individual in-named, un-filed single iPhone uploaded pictures. A few minutes ago I tried retrieving some from the deleted files section and after adjusting the filters, nothing came up. (1)Is there a grace period for retrieving? (2)Are deleted files the only items retrievable and not individual un-filed pictures? I’m a bit confused as to (3)what the difference between files and phone uploads and camera uploads are other than the obvious, deleting un-filed un-named singles individually to files having a name, files holding multiple pictures and ability to delete a whole file with pics all at once. (5)But with it being called “ Deleted Files”, are they all considered the same when deleting and retrieving them? It seems that Dropbox puts all my uploaded unfiled and un-named singles under camera uploads or phone uploads, (6)which I suppose, they could be considered pre-named Dropbox files (7)Not sure if I can delete pictures as a whole from these (files?) (8)because when opened, the two prenamed dropbox file formats look different than that of a file I named. (9)Dropbox’s Camera uploads and Phone uploads (files?) would make more sense to me if i uploaded photos with a secondary device like a Nikon camera or…..a Cannon. But all my Dropbox photo uploads are sourced from my iPhone camera. So that too is a bit confusing because I don’t choose where my singles go. They just go. Sometimes they go to both prenamed Dropbox (files?) I’ve had Dropbox for 10 years. (10)Looking for answers.
Sending large files to dedicated email address and have them added to the storage automatically
I was hoping to avoid uploading and downloading a 125GB file multiple times that I already have in WeTransfer. Other services allow for a dedicated email address to send large files to that will automatically add those files to storage. Perhaps you could convey that to your product management team as an enhancement request. Thank you for your help.
Do uploads overwrite existing files or folders?
When I upload a file or folder to dropbox & it has same name as existing file or folders, do the new ones overwrite the existing ones ? Or does it skip uploading the new ones cuz there's already one there ??? Or does it give it a (1) behind name & I have to go delete the old files or folders ???
Not sure how to find screenshots, and paste them when using the app on Mac OS 15.3.2
Dropbox Caprture (which was just fabulous) is no longer availble and i am having to revert back to Dropbox Screenshot. I can take the screenshot but I can't find it in my folfer (i have turned on save screenshot to folder and create link) I don't know how to paste ..can't paste it any where..nothings works. What I am not doing right? ( I have a Mac)..please help!I want to upload a file via the Android mobile app and it's stuck at "waiting to upload...".
Title says it all. I was clearing the catch every time I wanted to upload a photo and that was working for a while but no longer. I have plenty of space and the file is not that large. Restarted the phone Cleared the catch Cleared the data Uninstalled the app, reinstalled, logged back in. Updated the app and OS Tried on wifi and mobile Nothing works. Any suggestions?
Option for the 'Email to Dropbox' feature option to create your own email address
for "Email to Dropbox" feature i rather have random numbers for email address (like UUID number, "591b6596-1632-434b-9dea-fb85db01ceab") or option to create you own email address (UniqueName@addtodropbox.com or username@addtodropbox.com) (no special characters, like !@#$%^&*, this could cause problems with email apps/tools) this is much safer and easier to use .. thank you André
