Re: Being charged for an unknown account. How can I rectify this?

I have a fraudulent charge on my credit card for $199.

I am not a dropbox user and there is no way, that I can find, to get in touch with someone; hence, the reason I am writing here.

I have the all of the information about my credit card and the transation ID from by billing statement. I used the transaction finder tool and an email address I do not recognize comes up.  Is there anyone here who can help or point me in the right direction where I can call someone to dispute/cancel this charge?

You'll need to contact Dropbox Support directly. Visit the Support page while you're NOT signed in to a Dropbox account, including these forums, and you'll see an option for Billing issues. It's best to use an Incognito or Private browsing session to make sure you're not signed in.

Dropbox cannot charge you if they don't have your billing information. If you've been charged and didn't give them your billing information, then someone else has and you should be contacting your bank.

    Hi newton1,

Thanks for reaching out in the Community!

I have moved your thread here so you can see the best way to reach support directly in this case, as Rich laid out.

Right click this link, instead, and choose open in Incognito or Private, so as you won't be signed into any account with limited support options for this: https://www.dropbox.com/support/billing-issues

If you still can't get in touch with support from there, let me know!

Someone has used my card to pay for a Dropbox. I don’t have an account. So I can’t get help. I can’t call. I can’t email. I’m ready to pull out my hair. I was billed 8/24/23 for 119.88. It doesn’t match up to any email accounts that I have or had. I just want to cancel and refund the charges
