Can't remove an unknown shared folder from my account because I'm over quota
Macbook, Mojave 10.4.6, Chrome:
Hi, a shared folder named “Steve’s Videos” (8 GB) was shared with me by someone I don’t know.
It’s pushed my account over quota so I can’t remove or leave it.
Could a Dropbox moderator please remove me from that shared folder and restore my space?
Thank you.
Hi hannaheagle,
I just wanted to step in and check something with you.
I had one of our team take a look at your account and by the looks of it, the 8gb folder in question is no longer shared with you.
I'm wondering when you clicked "Remove me", if it actually worked but that error message popped up mistakenly.
Could you confirm if you still have access to this folder or not?

This is a message for Walter or anyone else that might be able to help:
I had originally sent this message: Hi, a shared folder named “Steve’s Videos” (8 GB) was shared with me by someone I don’t know.
It’s pushed my account over quota so I can’t remove or leave it.
Could a Dropbox moderator please remove me from that shared folder and restore my space?
Thank you. You, thankfully, responded with suggestions that did not work. I tried then to respond to your message but the message kept coming back undelivered:
Thank you, Walter, When I click on the three ellipses … the only option is “Remove Me.” I click that and get a message: We were unable to complete your request. I appreciate any help you can offer. Thanks, Hannah.
So, I'm hoping you will have another idea how to get rid of that 8GB in my dropbox. Thank you.

Thanks for giving it a go for me, Hannah. I've just sent you an email to investigate internally, so please take a look at your inbox and we'll take it from there.

Hi Dropbox team, a large shared folder (“Steve’s Videos”) was added to my account by someone I don’t know. It pushed me over quota. You helped me by removing the folder, but I still can’t use my account and Dropbox keeps asking me to upgrade even though I never added that folder. Can you please fix my account so my storage and access are restored?
Thanks, Hannah

There isnt anything to fix at Dropbox side.
If your account at http://www.dropbox.com/account/plan shows you over quota you need to delete files to get you under quota. For the share make sure you have left it at http://www.dropbox.com/share.

Hi Neal,
No, I do not have access to the 8gb folder and I got rid of a couple of other things and now I'm no longer getting the message to upgrade. Thanks for checking back in.
