Unexpected charges on my credit card from an unknown account.
Hello, I am in the same situation of user Robert H.73 6 months ago (Discussion title: Fraudulent Credit Card charges?).
I have a Basic Free account with Dropbox (3.75 GB), but on [removed by moderator], I was charged [removed by moderator] with a 12-digit reference number [removed by moderator]
I checked the transaction information, and it relates to the account registered with [email removed as per Community Guidelines], which is not mine.
There were two additional attempts to charge my card on 20/07/2025, but they didn't succeed because I locked my card.
Would somebody at Dropbox please contact me asap at my registered email address to solve this issue and be refunded?
Hey roos123!

Hey roos123, let's jump right into this!
Have you tried to contact Dropbox Support directly for this?
If you open an incognito or private window, where you aren't logged into any Dropbox account, you can submit a ticket via this support page.
Once you've sent your request, feel free to send me the ticket number, in order for me to locate it on my end. Having said all that, if you come across an issue, I'll be more than happy to reach out to you instead.

Dropbox can't charge you unless someone has provided them with your billing details. If you don't recognize the email that's associated with the charge and you didn't provide Dropbox with your billing information, then someone else has and you should also be contacting your bank.
If you just get a refund from Dropbox, the problem still exists. Someone is using your card. You need to contact your bank. They can reverse the charges and prevent it from happening again.

Thanks for your comment Rich. At the moment, I locked my card, and I notified my bank, which suggested that I contact Dropbox first. I will order a new card once the issue is solved.
