Solved

filesSaveUrl endpoint down yesterday (5th of July 2017)?

Hello,

I use the Dropbox NodeJS library (2.4.0) in the backend of my web app.

When a new photo/video is uploaded, the backend generates a link and uses the filesSaveUrl function to save it to a Dropbox. This all works well.

I noticed, however, that yesterday, no files where added to my Dropbox folders. I have different environments running independently on different services, and this is the case for all services. Starting today, everything works again.

I had a similar issue approximately one year ago. I filed a bug report and the outcome was that Dropbox indeed had a couple of hours of downtime on that specific endpoint, causing the issue.

When I look at the service status and incident history (https://status.dropbox.com/history), however, everything seemed to be working fine yesterday.

Did anyone else experience this issue?

Thanks,

Rik

  • Hi Rik, there was an issue affecting /save_url yesterday, but that should be fixed now. Please let us know if you're still seeing any problems. Thanks!

    Hello Greg,

Thanks for the prompt response. That issue is solved now, but another one popped up in the Dropbox web UI. When I sort files by name, some files are missing in the web UI. When I sort by added date, they are there. When I search for them in the top right input field, they're found as well. There also displaying in the synced folder.

Example: file 20170705_05235_anoniem.jpg and 20170705_15416_anoniem.jpg are in the Dropbox folder, but are missing from the web UI

Example: file 20170705_05235_anoniem.jpg and 20170705_15416_anoniem.jpg are in the Dropbox folder, but are missing from the web UI

    Best,

    Rik
