Running a script (Exiftool) on server containing video files

I would like to automaticaly extract metadata from videos in a folder using exiftool. Exiftool requires the videos to be downloaded; however, I have over 1 TB of videos. Would it therefore be possible to run a script directly on the server containing the video files ? I looked over the API and I haven't found any way to do so.

No, unfortunately Dropbox doesn't offer the ability to run custom operations directly on Dropbox itself like this. If you need access to the file data to run a tool on it, you'd need to download the file data first. I'll pass this along as a feature request, but I can't promise if or when that might be implemented.
