How can I always show the most recent files first in the camera uploads folder?

I want my Camera Uploads folder to be organized to always show photos chronologically with the most recent first. That seems like an obvious default and yet every single time I open it, it shows random ancient files and I have to select Modify and most recent first. Why?

Hey sarahberry9, thanks for reaching out to the Dropbox Community.

Can you let us know where you're seeing this behavior? Is it the mobile app or our website?

If it's the mobile app, can you let us know what your device's OS and version is and which Dropbox version you are using?

    Thanks in advance.

Hello, this is in all the above. The screenshot below is from the browser -- other than "recents," which is a small subset, I can only select a year. When I select 2025 it starts in freaking January! I can't simply see all my photo chronologically with most recent first.
The desktop app is useless because it actually changes the modified date to when I downloaded the app so in there my entire photo library has the same date in 2025. The phone app does the same thing as the browser.

I thought Dropbox was the solution for all my extended family photo sharing but every single one of us has this problem. Dropbox had great UXD back when it was new, what the heck happened?? I've given up and will not be renewing.

Hi sarahberry9, thanks for the images.

Just for clarification, is the site not displaying the folders in alphabetical, and numerical, order?

I'm not sure I can see where 2025 comes into play when you're showing a screenshot with 2022 and 2023 folders.

If you could provide more detail, this would be greatly appreciated!
