Can I create an activity report for shared files?
Hello community!
Is there any way I can generate a full report on file-sharing activity (created, edited, deleted)?
My idea is to handle the data to create a time tracking sheet (when each member worked on a specific folder/project)
Best!
Oh, great!
Almost double the price to download my own activity log?
Would never think that access to my own information would be a premium feature.
Makes sense, amazing plans design!
Best!

Hey Eduardo Tosto, I hope you're well today!
Could you let me know what kind of subscription your account is under? If you're not sure, you can check your account's plan page here.
The best reporting tools for this would be for a Business team admin, as they could use the activity log to create a report of specific activities.
Let me know and we can go from there!

Hi @Daphne, thanks for your reply!
My subscription is a Dropbox Business Standard account.
I've already played a bit with the activity log reports but couldn't find a file activity report:
- Added
- Edited
- Moved
- Renamed
It would be great if I could get this report with members, folders, and date information.
With a few queries in sheets, I could create an automated time tracking report for my studio.

Hey Eduardo Tosto, thanks for getting back to us.
Out of curiosity, when you type in "shared folder" in your activity monitor under your admin console's Activity tab, do you get any relevant results?
Keep us posted!

Hi @Lusil,
Thanks for getting in touch.
To be honest, I cannot find any file related activity as added, or edited.
I just get shared links related activities as opened or created.
In the activities field (button +add activity), there are no file related topics.
Am I missing something really stupid?

Just to make sure that I have a visual of this, could you send me a screenshot of what you see?
Thanks again, Eduardo Tosto!

Hi @Lusil,
I've just used the chat help and found that what I want is the events log.
As it seems it is impossible to get the complete team activity record in a CSV file.
That's what I was looking for.
It's a shame because the desktop app shows to me this information in real-time, but I cannot download it.
Would you have any suggestions?
Best!

Hey Eduardo; how are you today?
I'm sorry to jump in here; I just wanted to mentioned that you don't get file-related actions in your activity report because you're on the Standard plan.
As per the relevant documentation, if you are the admin of a team on an Advanced or Enterprise Dropbox Business plan, you can view all file-related actions on your team. File-level activity includes adding, editing, moving, and deleting files.
I hope this clarifies matters and let us know if you have any more questions.
