I have had the same situation my data was taken out of my Dropbox account which I’ve also had for many years and a pic with a note requesting I contact a Gmail address or my data will be deleted after 3 days. It’s now past 3 days and it has been deleted. I am shocked at the effortlessness of the breach, how many more customers have had this and what has been done? I need my data back as it has years of important work and personal info. I need assistance urgently here is my cell number WhatsApp is no doubt better than messaging [email removed as per Community Guidelines]

Hey @Logjammin, sorry to hear about that!
Also keep in mind, that it's far from safe posting your personal phone number, or any other details in a public forum, therefore I removed them for you.
Do you have access to your Dropbox account at the moment?
Have you checked the events page, and deleted files page as Walter posted above?
Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!

HI Megan
I wasnt expecting a reply hance my late message. I changed my email address and put on 2 factor auth. My files are back but there is no data in the older ones some in the newer ones. So i have no idea whats happened whether some data reloaded when i reloaded the desktop app or the hacker left some behind

Hey logjammin75 - sorry to jump in, but are you sure you're looking at the correct account?
If so, could you have a look at your deleted files page and the events page and let us know what you find?

Hey logjammin75, sorry to jump in here as well.
At this point, you're replying to this thread from three different Community profiles; one is logjammin75, the other is logjammin and the third is logjammin.
Community profiles are connected to Dropbox accounts, so that means you have three different Dropbox accounts, under three different email addresses.
Could that mean that you're looking for your files in the wrong account?
