File on my desktop that i cannot delete

Does anybody know what i need to do to remove this particular file from my desktop? Because i've been trying to get rid of it for a long time and i don't know what to do. The file has name desktop.in...

    As this is technically a hidden file in the system, and one created by the OS, it wouldn't be possible to remove that file from the desktop.

Hello,
Recently, I got a new computer and I decided to download dropbox because the app itself is really convenient and helped me out a lot on the past

After I did everything that app asked me to do this file appeared on my desktop. Now, I'm not quite sure weather it's dropbox created a file or not.
