Folders/Files in Adobe Photoshop were removed, maybe deleted?

Category correct? I had photoshop opened  and in the Path bar, I believe is where i was where it shows the program Dropbox  among C:/users, etc.. Did not see the word DROPBOX there before, so I believe I deleted or removed it on or about April 6, 2023. Next thing, all of my files were gone. I got some of them back but most of them were gone from Bridge and also photoshop. I do not remember subscribing to Dropbox or do not even know how it got there in Adobe Photoshop. I am not very adept on a computer, as I am almost 85 years old and can not speak due to Cancer of the Larynx and Voicebox which have been removed.

I sincerely hope that you are able to help me or tell me how I can get those Folders with the Files back into Adobe Photoshop. It would be wonderful to have back.

Thanks so very much for your kind help.

The deleted files were all before the date of 11/07/23 and back to 2019. Could not make any change to reflect that or in events.

Hi tedi, the deleted files can be found here, and the events page here

Bear in mind that if you're on a Basic or Plus plan, any files deleted outside of 30 days ago wouldn't be visible, nor recoverable, at this point, even by our support team.

So what is the deciding factor, If any exists, that would absolutely enable me to retrieve all of the Folders with files that were deleted when I deleted DROPBOX from Bridge and all of the photos were gone from the panel where the folders with files are downloaded to in Bridge, remembering the najority wer all from the years 2023 back to 2019 and possibly some older.

I also want to add that I was not an active member of Dropbox when Dropbox showed up out of nowhere in BRIDGE. How is that then possible? Also this happened one time before the exact same identical thing as worded for word.

How does DROPBOX manage and have the right to enter DROPBOX on its own and the be able to delete all of the FOLDERS present? NOT HAPPY!!!!!!

Hey tedi, let me start by saying that I'm sorry that you've lost access to your files.

However, keep in mind that Dropbox by itself does not have the ability to delete your files.

Files can get deleted for several reasons and in this case, if I understand correctly, you installed the Dropbox application and somehow moved your Adobe Bridge files into Dropbox; perhaps by accidentally enabling the Dropbox backup feature? Could that be possible?

When Dropbox backup is enabled, all the actions you take on the backed up files in Dropbox, reflect on your computer as well.

However, when files that were backed up to Dropbox get deleted, depending on your plan, you have a certain time frame to restore them, before they get permanently deleted.

If you're on a free account, that restoration window is 30 days.

If you checked your deleted files page and your events page, like my colleagues suggested, and you still can't find the files, it could be that the files were deleted before those 30 days.

Otherwise, can you also check your backups page here, to see if you can maybe locate the files there?

Have you also checked your computer's Recycle bin?

You shipped over and did not address the fact that the first and 2nd time this same event happened I was not a member of DROPBOX at all. How is then that you can and are able to putt "DROPBOX bock on my computer and after I had deleted it via going onto Programs and Features and deleting/removed it. Then out of nowhere it pops up in Bridge again above the FOLDERS and CONTENT panel. This has happened twice. I had Microsoft and Adobe both involved in this debacle and none of them could come up with a solution and more importantly it was immediate and not beyond any 30 days and again, it was not even installed on my computer actively.  Let me stress this last time and within days it happened after I had deleted DROPBOX as it pops up on an occasion and had not activated it in any manner by me at all., which I mentioned above, not to be redundant. It was nothing that I did to cause this. Thus, I even then paid to join Dropbox hoping that there was an option there that would enable me to get my FOLDERS with the photos within back. MISTAKE!!!!! UPSET does not describe this event to say the least!!!!!

Hi tedi, I definitely see where you're coming from.

The situation is not ideal and I understand how frustrating this must be for you. However, if the content was deleted, and you can't even locate them in the deleted files page, or events then there's not much that we can do.

The chances are that either the files were deleted more than 30 days ago, or they never synced with Dropbox in the first place.

Keep in mind that some devices come with our app pre-installed, so this might have been the case there, however it's not something that we can deny or confirm.

We also can't really identify retroactively what might have happened there. Since we can't do much about restoring your files, let us know if you need further help uninstalling the app, or maybe cancelling your subscription.

In any case, we're here for you, thank you!
