How can I restore files that were accidentally deleted?

hello i want to restore my 7 to 8 years old data, which is deleted by mistake

If they were deleted within the last 30 days then you can recover files from your Deleted Files page. If they were deleted more than 30 days ago then they cannot be recovered.

I tapped 'deleted files' and an empty waste basket came up!
Other suggestions?
How'd it happen...New expensive phone I messed up so to restore to 'virginal' new, I took photos/contacts aside, then stripped phone to like new. I then got contacts back but not pics. HELP PLEASE!

    Did you upload them to Dropbox? If so they will be on Dropbox however on mobile devices they do not sync back to photos. You'd need to manually resave them back to the device. 

     

    They should be in the Camera Uploads folder on Dropbox
