How do I move and/or delete files and folders permanently out of my Dropbox?
I want to completely MOVE certain files and folders out of my dropbox and into an external storage device, because I am out of space and these are for a defunct project.

2 years agoHi Mickey F., if the folders are reappearing on your machine, then some other app or service is requesting information from them on your computer via the Dropbox desktop application, and so the folder remains active.

Is it possible to have someone at Dropbox do a screenshare with me to help solve this problem? I've been dealing with trying to get this fixed for weeks.

Hey Mickey F. - sorry to jump in here, but I just wanted to mention that your support options are the ones listed on this page.
As for the issue at hand, could you try checking the version history of a sample file from the ones that you delete and notice coming back to see which process, user or app is adding it back to your account?
