How to copy a file and only modify the new copied file?

How do you copy a file and modify the new copied file without changing the original file?

  • Hey gladysbragg, thanks for using Dropbox and happy Monday!

If you're using the website, you could use the 'copy' option to copy the file to a new location on your account and work on that file.

In case you're using the desktop app, simply copy the file to the new location and make sure to edit that file.

This shouldn't affect the original file, but only the copied one.
