If I have edit rights on a shared folder and I delete files, will they delete for all members?
I am not the owner of the folder but I have edit rights. Somehow the original owner has made somebody else (who should not have access to our files) the new owner and he doesnt appear to know how to ...

If you delete the files in the shared folder, then those files would be deleted for all members of the shared folder.
It is worth bearing in mind that they would be able to restore the deleted files as they are the owner of the shared folder. If you created the files in that folder, you should be able to permanently delete them from the site.
