So, that sounds like they've never uploaded to Dropbox.

    Few possible things here.

    1. If you used another service/tool before Dropbox and copied and pasted the files in to Dropbox locally did you make sure they were stored locally on your machine first? For example if you used iCloud or OneDrive and they were set to Online Only they store on a device as 0byte files. If all you did was drag/drop them onto Dropbox, the holder files may have uploaded only.
    2. You are on a Mac and the way a Mac works is it creates 0byte holding files first if you move things around. It then 'populates' that with data. But, if your Dropbox gets full for any reason syncing stops OR people assume that they have uploaded by seeing green tick without waiting for the moves to finish. If it was that the account is now full then the files should still be in the \Dropbox folder of the device it was uploaded from as long as its not been wiped etc. If its that you didnt wait enough again they may still be on device waiting to upload.
    3. They were corrupted when uploaded. You can see if there is a previous version available via this article. But, only 30 days worth is available.

For both 1 and 2 as folder structures are created first what you are seeing would lend itself to that being the issue.

Can you remember how you uploaded them?

What does http://www.dropbox.com/account/plan show in terms of quota and space?

Sorry to hear about this, Jeff Squad.

Can you clarify when was the last time you were able to access all of these photos on www.dropbox.com?

Other than your Deleted files page, have you also checked your Events page and there’s no sign of your missing content there either?

Finally, Iā€˜ve located your support ticket in our system and left a note for our team, as well.

Keep me in the loop for any updates.

    Hi there,

Thank you for your reply. Long story short, a friend of mine went to place, I recommended him a place to eat and went to look for the photo, it was not there.

On further inestigation, realised further photos missing. The events page shows some deletions but not the correct folders or file names.

    Regards

    Jeff

Does it show the files actually being added?

How far back does Events go?

Yes it shows the files I have deleted. But for example, I went to the UK, the file names would be UK001 etc etc, none of these have that file name or a variant to the location visited. some you can save, but when you open, they become corrupted and file size is 0kb

Feb 2025 they go back to.

I am back home tomorrow, I will check on my main PC for my business and that is the work horse. But they have also gone from my wife's Ipad/Iphone and also my phone.

DB and PC are sync'd all the time, as I need DB for my designs. Originally both Iphones are sync'd, drag and dropped and then also the SD card from the camera are transferred.

But, like I said I will check main PC just in case tomorrow. I will report back either way.

    Thank you Mark.

My guess then is number 2 has happened.
But they should have uploaded over time slowly if the app was running and other files/folders are sync'd and up to date.
