    In that case, could you give it a go and let me know if the syncing gets stuck at the same number of files again KathleenWT?

Walter,

I forgot to tell you: I did not reboot the computer. Should I have? I thought it might interrupt some ongoing process and make things worse.

    Walter,

    Thanks for getting back to me. I restarted the computer, and now I get the message that everything is "Up to date." Now, when I check the Dropbox files on my computer, the large folder I renamed in the cloud is now also correctly renamed in the Dropbox folder on my PC.
