2 years agoHi Bewildered_Bobby, thanks for messaging the Community.
Could you clarify what folder you're referring to?
Is this the Dropbox folder on your computer, or a folder on your Dropbox account?
This will help me to assist further!

Hi Jay: Thanx for the quick reply. Both fldrs appear to have same name that I assigned.
(1) i NOW know that fldrs can be either on my desktop or (remotely ?) within my Dropbox acct. How do I determine where it is stored ?
(2) the folder is one that I created to contain photos but appears twice. Is it possible that there are 2 fldrs with same name - one within my Dropbox acct, the other on my desktop ?

In order to understand what you're referring to, could you attach a screenshot showing the folder in your Dropbox folder and on the Dropbox site?

Hi again Jay: on my desktop under FAVORITES/DROPBOX only 2 folders are shown -
(1) .dropbox.cache (2) transfer files
also one Dropbox file- .dropbox
I hope that this helps.

Where is the duplicate folder in what you've described? This sounds like an almost empty Dropbox account.

Hi Jay: you wrote - "Where is the duplicate folder in what you've described ?" How do I confirm my suspicion that it is ONLY within the online acct since it is not listed in contents of Dropbox folder on my desktop. But since I do not know (yet) how to determine its location when it appears within Dropbox app, I cannot confirm its location. Did I explain that well ?

Hi Jay: I am a card-carrying NEWBIE to Dropbox. Can I learn the location of the folder just by looking at the home page ? If not, how ?? Thanx.

You should be able to check the folder path if you click on it Bewildered_Bobby
Give that a go and let me know if it helps!
