Why do I have a Duplicate Folder ?
Apparently the only fldr created is duplicated for some unknown reason. So -
(1) how could this have happened ? Is there no warning msg prior to creating a duplicate ?

Hi again Jay: if ONLY "selective sync" results in apparent duplicate fldrs, then YES i probably did. Do you recommend deleting one of them until I decide if "selective sync" works for me ?? Thanx.

2 years agoHey Bewildered_Bobby, we still haven't figured out what kind of duplicate folder this is.
Is it named exactly like the original? Or does it have some kind of parenthesis next to the name?
Please attach a screenshot in your next reply, so we can have a visual to assist you further.

Hello Hannah: The tech gremlins must be loose again. Initially the same fldr appeared TWICE on the home pg with no apparent difference. To a Dropbox newbie this was an apparent duplicate. But today the fldr did not appear EVEN ONCE until i "joined" the fldr - now it does appear correctly once.
But an ancient fldr created many years ago appeared correctly earlier this week but not today.
Plz advise what I'm doing wrong. Thanx.

Hello again: it would help if I understood the format of Home pg. Apparently there is a faint horizontal line abt 1/2 way down the pg. The fldr in question now appears ONCE above the line identified as "Folder - Dropbox". But it now also appears below the horizontal line labeled - "Shared Folder - 1 Item". This is NOT the same apparent duplication that I reported initially when the identical fldr appeared TWICE above the line.
Also do I understand correctly that Dropbox considers folders as files since fldrs appear on home pg under heading "ALL FILES" along with PDFs, etc ??

Hey Bewildered_Bobby - sorry to jump in here, but could you send us a screenshot of what you're referring to so that we can have a visual too?
As for the website's navigation in general, you can have a look here for more info.

Hope this helps but the original duplication ABOVE THE HORIZONTAL LINE has disappeared.
