Activity log for when a user views a folder (and not just a file)

Currently Dropbox has a major limitation in that the Activity log only records when a user deletes, moves, adds etc a shared folder. It does record when someone views a file, but not a folder. Dropbox needs to ensure the activity log records when someone views a shared folder (including date and time).  I am shocked to realise this is not an option.

Hi AnnaWing, currently it wouldn't be possible to log this since opening a folder isn't the same as opening a file.

It is essentially the same as navigating down the file structure, and at the end you pick a file to view.

It would also create hundreds of log entries daily when users search for files in their Dropbox account, and would only work from the website (since these folder accesses might not be tracked from Explorer/Finder).

Could you clarify how this would be useful for your workflow?
