Can specific links be reused?
I have somewhat recently started working at a company. Previously, when doing sales pitches, our salesmen would use a QR code as a quick link to a specific product. Need for that product waned and th...

Hi tdavis1, is there any chance that you locate the content, and move it back to the original path it was?
If the file is moved back, that should usually do the trick. If you need to update the shared link, in order to "follow" the file on the path it exists now, then you would need to re-create it.

Unfortunately, I do not know where the file originally was located when the link was created, nor does anyone else here.
I will just create a new link and my salesman will just have to deal with it. We will make it work.
Thank you for your help!

Dropbox Product Manager
Hi tdavis1 , we're launching a QR code feature within Dropbox that might solve your problem. I'm guessing you're currently using an external service to create QR codes that link back to Dropbox, which is difficult to maintain when files move around inside Dropbox.
I'll give you access to start using it next week. If you have any feedback, I'd love to hear!

I currently use Corel Draw to generate QR codes. It would be great to be able to generate them directly in Dropbox.
Would this feature in Dropbox maintain the QR code even if files were moved (which we will likely not do anymore, but just in case)?

Yes, the QR code will still lead to the file, even if you move it to a different folder within Dropbox. 😁 tdavis1
