Shared Links
659 TopicsThe shared link URL is different on the website vs the URL from the Windows app
In website the url contains &st=xxxxxx so we can use the link with with dl.dropboxusercontent.com ending with ;raw=1 While the windows app's sharing link doesn't include the &st=xxxxxx hence chaging dl.dropboxusercontent.com ending with ;raw=1 doesn't work.908Views0likes5CommentsI need to be able to send files to people without a Dropbox account, but can't anymore.
I received an email from Dropbox this morning that said, "Please sign in!We noticed you're not taking advantage of your Dropbox account." That's right, I'm not, I haven't been signing in, and I'll tell you why. I always used Dropbox to share files with other people. If I'm not mistaken, you ruined that functionality by suddenly insisting that the only people you could share files with were those who had Dropbox accounts themselves. This made Dropbox essentially useless, at least to me and I'm sure to many others. Restore your previous functionality and I'll be happy to again sign into my account and take advantage of it. Thank you.13Views0likes1CommentCan I link a folder to another website gallery and export the folder structure from Dropbox?
I am helping my father in law get his collection of postcards into an online gallery. I am hoping to use the Wix website to create a database of the postcards and include the web URL that each can be found at. All of his postcards are in a Dropbox folder. The issue is that there are over 10,000 postcard images that need adding to the database collection. With this volume, it makes sense to use the Import facility available in Wix. So I need a way of: Getting the folder structure from Dropbox, including subfolders and files into a spreadsheet Making an entire Dropbox folder public including subfolders and files Constructing the web URL from the filename and folder info obtained in step 1 I believe I can do step one easily enough through Excel and using the "Get Data" from folder. I also believe it is easy enough to give public access to a particular folder. My issue is creating the individual web URLs that will be in the sub folders. I don't want to have to visit each f the 10,000 items and copy and paste the public URL for the image into a spreadsheet. Hopefully that makes sense, but if not please ask for clarification and I will do my best :)60Views0likes5CommentsMy public folder is no longer being shared to everyone, why?
I have been using DropBox for over 10 years ... but recently things have changed, in W11 seems very different. For example, I have a public folder .. and I set this to be available to all to view ... and its subfolders & contents, been working fine. Now the 'Public' folder is set to only me ..... plus contacts are limited, how can I reset it to be available to anyone When people try to access any file in it they get a message that they need approval. How do I set the folder AND all of its subfolders AND contents to be available? I have a shared link to a gaming document that I've been using for a while. However, every time I've tried to use the link over the pass couple of days, I get the message shown below. I've refreshed the page, used different browsers, cleared my cache, but nothing seems to work. I've had others test the link and they've been able to use it just fine, so I don't believe the document has been delete. Does anyone know how I might be able to access it again?Solved49Views0likes10CommentsMy shared link video preview freezes on Chrome, but not Safari.
Hi Dropbox Community, I’m experiencing an issue with video playback on a Dropbox-shared link in Chrome. Here’s what’s happening: When I open the link in Chrome, the video plays but intermittently freezes in the middle. However, when I view the same video link in Safari, it plays smoothly without any interruptions. My internet connection is fast, so I don’t think it’s a connectivity issue. I’ve tried disabling Chrome extensions, clearing my cache, and even adjusting hardware acceleration, but the issue persists in Chrome specifically. here's the format of my link: [removed] Has anyone else encountered this issue with Dropbox videos on Chrome, or is there any recommended solution?93Views1like9CommentsI get an error every time I open another user's shared link.

8 times out of 10 when we send out links for view to people outside our company the ask to join our group. Can you make it more obvious for them to click Skip to View? They ask to join are team almost every time and the point is to share the view. Thanks22Views0likes1Comment
