DropBox shows wrong name on desktop notification when someone adds a file to a shared folder
Hi,
just came back to Dropbox after many years of not using it. Sharing folders with other users and one of them has the same email address that a user on the same domain had many, many years ago. ...

Dropbox also pulls info through from what the user has on their account. So, have you checked that the recycled account user has update their info at www.dropbox.com/account ?

Hello Mark,
thanks for answering me but before I wrote in the forum I read as much as I could and your suggestion was something I tried. No change in behavior after Clear was clicked. So unfortunately, this is not the solution. It feels like Dropbox is saving my earlier contacts somewhere where I have no control over them. This is not even according to GDPR but that is another question.

Absolutely correct, the new user did not react that it wasn't his name on the account... Now it is correct.
Thank you for your input!
Best regards
