How can I get Dropbox in Finder?

It looks indeed like the Dropbox icon is missing from your Mac's doc. Would you mind clarifying the app's current syncing status?
Have you tried uninstalling the app, restarting the device and re-installing it by any chance?

well this is troubling... the Installer was non-responsive for a while. then there was a flurry of activity and it has installed the "Date Modifed 31 December 1979 5.00pm' version, I kid you not.
it did not ask me to sign in or anything else.
