I have a shared folder, but every file I put in seems to be locked.
I volunteer with a local hospital radio station. For one of the programmes I do, we have shared a Dropbox for at least ten years and have never had an issue.

As I said, there is one shared folder already which doesn't have that issue so I really don't understand why this one does. I have the same privileges with both folders as they are on the same remote machine.

2 years agoHmm, can you please send us a screenshot of how the locked files appear, so we can have a visual as well?

Sure. Same files; different folders. Top one is original folder that is +10 yrs old. Bottom is new folder < 1 yr old.

Thanks for the screenshots, Carl.
Just as a test, can you move one of the files with the gray X out of your Dropbox folder and then move it back, to see if that helps?

It doesn't. I can do what I like on my machine. This is only a problem on the remote PC. It's so weird!

Hi from me as well, CarlW. After taking a look at your screenshot, this looks like a network share, which is generally unsupported when it comes to accessing the Dropbox folder on your device.
As a result, I’m afraid we can’t provide much here, but I’ll leave this thread open in case any other user has had similar experience and can offer something more.

Fine, but the other one is also a network share through the same account on the remote machine so why does that one not have the same problem?
