If you have the Dropbox desktop application installed on your computer, then you have a local Dropbox folder. On a PC, the default location would be in your user profile. For instance ...
C:\Users\[your username]\DropboxDropbox will only sync the files and folders placed in this folder. If you manually uploaded a folder from your Desktop to the Dropbox website, that was a one-time copy and won't continue to sync with the folder on your Desktop.
The intention of Dropbox is that you move your files into the local Dropbox folder and work on them there. That way any changes you make within the folder will sync automatically.

So I do not need the container folder that is sitting on my desktop anymore?
I would compare the content of that folder to the one located in the local Dropbox folder. If they're the same, then you don't need it anymore and you should use the one in Dropbox.

Is the Dropbox application running on your PC? Hover your cursor over the Dropbox icon in your system tray.
Let us know what its status is (Up to date, syncing, indexing, etc.), as well as which version of the application you're running. It should look like this:

I have added a folder in the container folder in Dropbox.
I can see the new folder in Dropbox on my i-phone and i-pad.
Nothing changed however in the container folder on my PC.Assuming it's nothing private, what is the exact name of that folder? If the name is something private, can you tell us if there are any special characters in the folder's name? Anything other than the usual alphanumeric characters.

The container folder is named: pietclijsen1311.nl. In the first line of subfolders the '@' is used.
Wonder if this could be the problem.

Hi all,
Since the problem has not changed, could some one pick this item up and help me resolve it. Yesterday I have added a folder to the container folder on my PC, nothing changed however in Dropbox.
