I'm using Android version 14 with the latest updates. I will open an e-mail in the Samsung mail app, click on the paperclip to add an attachment, click on the pdf or jpeg file, a box comes up that says "Creating Link" and the attachment shows up as an HTML file.
As a side note, they attach fine outside of Dropbox and if I use Outlook, I don't have any issues.

2 years agoHey Mikeb365, thanks for the info!
Based on everything that you described, it sounds like the app might be creating a shared link when you try to attach a file from Dropbox. Could that be the case there?
I'm assuming that if you save the file locally, it opens without an issue, right?

Hi from me as well, Mikeb365! Besides “Create link”, do you see another option to attach your files as they are instead? You can also upload a screenshot of what you see here, so that we can have a visual.

Here you go Megan. Creating link quickly appears, then an HTML link is added to the e-mail. I hope this helps. It does not give me any options, just creates the link.
