Should I opt out of File Provider?

So it looks like I may have found the issue. The file provider version of the dropbox that I unsynced still was "syncing" even though its the old folder.
So I bit the bullet during a very high risk time and moved all my folders out that old folder. Moving through the UI kept giving my "sync" errors. So I went into Terminal (I use Warp on Mac) and used this:
rsync -av --no-perms --no-group --partial --progress \
--exclude='/.dropbox.cache/' --exclude='*/.DS_Store' --exclude='*/Icon?' \
"/Users/portermane/Library/CloudStorage/Dropbox/MBP/" \
"/Users/portermane/Documents/Backup Dropbox/MBP/" \
2> ~/Desktop/rsync_errors.txt
This basically moved about 100GB+ of files in under two hours to the new location for now.
So I was able to hit "Delete Dropbox" button now that I've backed up my most important files for design, code, music production and photography. Everything else is older files and double backed up on external HDD and my online Dropbox.
Now next step is hoping that the true syncing start for the new offline dropbox folder, which looks like Im starting to see some icons now!
Thanks to everyone so far on helping me with this. This was basically like cutting a wire for a bomb as I still have major deadlines and any wrong move could of messed up a lot of things for my business. After the Online Dropbox syncs to the new Local Dropbox folder, next step is copying parts of my backup dropbox folder back into the new Local Dropbox folder because the "Backup Dropbox" folder is the most updated folder.

Files are finally synced locally.
Next step: slowly copy over folders from Backup Dropbox to current Dropbox.
