Slow Uploads Speeds on 1GB Dedicated Leased Line
I am experiencing less than 10MB/s upload on a connection which I have 1GB dedicated.
I can confirm the upload speed of my connection to any other server or speedtest is 1GB when testing.
I have...

The best speed I have seen is 100MB/s on my 1GB leased line - which is not really very good, considering I consistently get 900MB/s on any other site I upload to, hence the reason to invest in a dedicated leased line 🙂
Current status is syncing on CloudSync app and Up to Date on the native app, which has Selective Sync activated.
Versions:
Mac: 176.3.5042
Windows: 176.3.5402
CloudSync (Synology): 2.6.1-2286
The speed has decreased since moving data around, yes.
I am seeing the same issues whether I use Dropbox native app on PC or Mac, or CloudSync on my Synology NAS drive.
All in all its extremely disappointing.
Please help! Thanks!

While most ISPs and speed test sites display their results in bits (kilo or mega), the speeds reported by Dropbox are in Bytes. Be sure to do the conversion before comparing. Your 100MB/s transfer speed as reported by Dropbox would be equivalent 800Mb/s.
Also, each file that you upload is hashed, compressed, then transferred, encrypted, and stored on the Dropbox servers. That entire process is included in the aggregate MB/s speed that's displayed in the Dropbox sync status. In other words, the speed reported by Dropbox is not just a transfer speed, but the speed at which the entire process is being completed.

If thats the case as you say, then why on the weekend I saw 102 MB/s and now its currently uploading at 1.8MB/s ?
If I am uploading 90GB of data to another internet based server (not Dropbox), it will take me 12 minutes on my 1GB leased line.
Definitely something strange going on server side with Dropbox. Who in Drobox would be able to examine the connectivity server side and analyse the exact issue?
Thanks!

Hi again, syntrak!
What Rich mentioned above is correct.
Also, if you’re seeing 100 MB/s of speed one day and not the next, then this is most likely not an issue on Dropbox’s side.
However, if you want our support team to check this further, you can open a ticket with them via this page. If you do this, don’t forget to send us your ticket number here as well, so that we can leave an internal note to our team.
Thanks.

Hi there
Support ticket is: 22286168
Speedtest is showing 900 Mb/s and down. No issues on any server.
Dropbox has slowed down to a snails pace now, 3 Kb/s.....
Please see what you can do?
Thanks!
