Syncing Issues and slowness across many users

3 years agoHi JoshSorenson, are they all using the new File Provider version of the Dropbox desktop application? This prevent the use of LAN sync, which could be used to speed up syncing in the background.
Have you checked that their bandwidth isn't restricted in the Dropbox desktop application preferences?

It isn't available for me, but also it specifically mentions that it may be slow for enviroments with 300k+ files. Also we are all remote so the Lan Sync isn't even used ever. I'd be willing to try it though, but it doesn't seem to be available for me.

JoshSorenson, if you’re syncing more than 300k files locally, this may affect your Dropbox app’s performance indeed. Have you tried using selective sync to remove some large folders from the Dropbox app, that you don’t need to sync locally?
Does this seem to help at all?
Can you also send a screenshot of what you see in your Bandwidth settings?
