syncing problem

Dropbox will not sync from macbook air to imac but will from imac to laptop

  • Problem solved. I was expecting that a document I corrected in laptop would be updated in the file on my mac; the dose not happen. This file in this case was a spreadsheet and when updated on MB it appeared on my mac under "spreadsheets" NOT the original file. Things were updated.

Sorry. Might be a solution for someone else's problem.

    Hi RTurn

Have you checked its running on the Macbook Air? A reinstall may help: www.dropbox.com/downloading

If it is running what does it say if you mouse over its icon on the status bar?

Reloading software did not resolve issue. When hovering over icon it says that DB is up to date.   There were a  couple of You Tube videos on fixing the  same problem but I was unable to follow them. On my "old" former device, DB on my second device was not "active", i.e. could not enter data. This time I can enter data on the mac book device but it does not sync.

Is there any way I can "force" a sync while on my laptop after I enter data? Are there any device settings that need to be turned on for the laptop to sync?

I have spent hours trying to resolve this issue with no luck. Very frustrating.
