Syncing the desktop files

Hey, all the files and folders are synced perfectly, but the files and folders that are on my pc desktop don't sync. What should I do?

Dropbox can only sync the files and folders that you place in the local Dropbox folder. If you want to sync the files on your Desktop, you can enable the Backup feature which will MOVE your Desktop, Documents and Downloads folders into your Dropbox folder so they can also sync.

Hey Arnon1, sorry to hear about this.

Can you please clarify if you've enabled the computer backup feature which lets you backup your OS folders, like Desktop, Downloads and Documents to Dropbox?

Otherwise, you'd need to manually copy or move the files you'd like to be synced from your Desktop to your Dropbox folder.

    Keep me posted anyhow!

    Hey Walter,

Thank you so much for your quick response 🙂

I didn't enable backup. I'll try to follow the instructions. Is this feature is free of charge for Dropbox Plus accounts?

Hey Arnon1, sorry to jump in.

Just to clarify, do you see some files within the local Dropbox folder of your desktop app, but not on www.dropbox.com

Or would you like to enable computer backup instead, like Walter suggested?

If it’s the latter, you can check the steps described here to enable the feature. It should be available for your Dropbox account.

Let me know in case you need something.

Hey Nancy, Thank you for your reply 🙂.  I'd like to be able to continue working with my laptop on the files I kept on the desktop folder of my PC, like I successfully do with all the other files kept on my PC. Is it possible? And what is the difference between this and the backup procedure?

    Thanks!
