Hi there, abdelghafor, welcome to our Community.

Would you mind giving us some more info here?

Are you getting some kind of error message when trying to share files?

And how are you sharing your files?

Any additional details you can think of, would be really helpful.

    Thanks in advance!

     Hi Hannah Hannah

    Thank you for your response.

I’m experiencing an issue with Dropbox links that were printed as QR codes in a book and already distributed.

I created these QR codes last year, and they were working perfectly at the time. I  created five different QR codes for five chapters of the novel, and each one is used to take the reader directly to a specific MP3 song, which would play immediately in the browser.

Now, when scanning any of these QR codes, all of them lead to the same MP3 folder instead of individual songs. The folder requires users to download the Dropbox app and request access. This breaks the original experience for the reader.

Here is the link from the first QR code:

I understand that these are folder-based links and not individual file links. However, they were working correctly last year, and they would take the reader directly to the song.

Unfortunately, I cannot change or regenerate the links because the novel has already been printed and is currently available to readers. Is there a way to adjust the settings of the existing URLs so they function as fully public links again, or is it possible to make each link open and play its specific MP3 file directly, without changing the URL?

Thank you very much for your support.

It isnt possible to update/alter the links that Dropbox use I'm afraid. So if they are linking incorrectly it isnt possible to alter them at Dropbox side.

However, as you used a QR tool can the QR code link be updated? I know the QR tools I use you can edit the code behind the scenes to change where it links to and from. Is that a possibility?

Thank you for your response Mark

I couldn't edit the link from the QR code generator.

How about changing the folder access permission? I can't make it public from my end
