Hi. Have just checked my Files, and the one I uploaded yesterday, plus a whole slew of others, is not there. I always get an email confirming when I've uploaded, but never checked the Box before, so it's a bit of a shock that most of my audition tapes are not there! Does this mean they were never actually uploaded after all? Does it make a difference that these were tapes requested OF me and not BY me? Seems odd and worrying. Dear Dropbox Support Team, It's been a while since I actively used dropbox, apart via a service to back it up and sync it. Today, I logged in via web to share some pictures, and I got this message: Can’t share file Error in call to API function /2/sharing/create_shared_link_with_settings: We’ve suspended your sharing activity because of a violation of Dropbox’s Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy, and Terms of Service or Services Agreement. About a year ago (maybe more) I did indeed detect a virus in a file hosted in my dropbox, and I deleted it at the time. I guess the same virus was detected by dropbox systems and there's a ban in my account since then. I’d appreciate it if you could review my account and lift the sharing ban. Best Regards,Solved28Views0likes4CommentsHow can we restrict who can share to groups?
I'm currently facing an issue where certain users in our Dropbox environment have the ability to share things in Team folders that they have access to. While the sharing feature works great for sharing with specific other employees, sometimes people share to the Everyone Atgroup where it results in hundreds of employees receiving email notifications that something has been shared with them. It is usually immediately unshared, but then that just creates a lot of confusion. For some context, we are in the process of migrating from local shared folders to Dropbox, and all groups other than theEveryone At group are IT-managed through AD sync. We would also like to keep the Everyone At group of possible for us to share out any documents to all employees if needed. Is there a way to restrict a users ability to see groups, or to restrict their ability to share to them?16Views0likes1CommentCannot see the files shared with me in my finder.
Hi! I can see my dropbox folders&files in the finder. However, I cannot see the 'files' shared with me in my finder. Please note, files that were shared with me is not in a folder - just the excel documents were shared. On the other hand, I can see the shared files on the dropbox item attached to menu bar (top dock). Please help!21Views0likes1CommentPeople asked to create account when viewing my files
If I send a link to one of my folders and the person via the link is taken to the opening page, they find they are confronted with a banner asking them to creat an account. One can clic outside of the banner and it disappears and they have access to the files. But a few people found the banner intimidating and figured they had to create an account and abandoned their attempt to view the files. Is there a way to turn this marketing off?39Views0likes3CommentsFeedback to enhanced the sharing capabilities on Dropbox.
Feature Request: Enhanced Sharing Capabilities on Dropbox 1. Multiple Share Links with Independent Settings and Permissions Request: The ability to create separate share links for the same file/folder, each with unique permissions (e.g., view-only, comment-only, edit) and security settings (e.g., password protection, expiration dates). Why It’s Important: It’s common to share one file with different stakeholders who each require different levels of access. Separate links improve security and reduce confusion. 2. Send and Track Analytics for Shared Files Request: A feature that provides insights into how shared links are accessed—who’s viewing them, when, and how many times they’ve been viewed. Why It’s Important: Built-in analytics enable better tracking of engagement, making it easier to measure file reach and ensure important documents are actually seen. 3. Version Updates on Existing Send and Track Links Request: The ability to replace or update a file on an existing shared link (especially a “Send and Track” link) without having to issue a new link. Why It’s Important: Files often go through revisions; allowing in-place updates ensures recipients always have the most recent version, saving time and reducing the chance of outdated information circulating. These enhancements would streamline workflows for Dropbox users, particularly those who frequently share files in professional or collaborative settings.Do collaborators automatically have access to new documents in shared content?
When I add new documents to a folder, do my collaborators who have access automatically receive access to the new documents? I notice there's a pop up box that has the option to send to them for review, but I just want to know they have an updated folder with the new documents. Thanks.17Views0likes1CommentFolder appears empty
Is there any way to get access to an expired link? I had gotten a disposable camera processed a year ago and have tried to access the Dropbox link from my emails, however, no matter the browser or device it always says the folder is empty even though it should have at least 25 photos in it. Has anyone experienced this issue before? The company I got the photos processed with have lost the film roll and wondering how I can gain access to these photosSolved47Views0likes4CommentsI can't see another user's updates on a shared file and they can't see mine
