"We’ve interrupted your sharing activity" error

Hello all,

I tried to share a folder like I always do and I received this message- We’ve interrupted your sharing activity. For details or to contact support, read our help center article.

Everything seems fine on my end. Plenty of room in my dropbox

Have cleared any possible files that might be misinterpreted as bad once - though i have them forever

Bandwith normal

The files are the same ones that have been there for months

I really need to share these for work.

Can you please help!

  • Hmm, I see what you mean. In general, deleting the file in question may not immediately resolve the issue, unfortunately.

Out of curiosity, can you open an incognito window on your web browser and log in to Dropbox from there? Are you able to share your files this way, or do you still receive an error?

Hi there psharkov , and welcome to the Dropbox Community 👋

I’m really glad to hear everything’s working again and thanks so much for coming back to update us! It’s always helpful when folks share that their issue is resolved, especially with sharing errors like this that can pop up unexpectedly 😊

By the way, I’m Theresa 👩‍💻, one of the Community Managers here at Dropbox HQ. Since you’ve been using Dropbox to share content, I’d love to know... what’s your favourite Dropbox feature? Whether it’s something simple or more advanced, I’m always curious what people enjoy most about the experience.

    Looking forward to hearing more,

    T 😺 (Dropbox Community Manager)

    Hello dear Jay,

I doubt that the usage of the file exceeded some limitations as the users using it that i shared with are the same and the file is relatively small to generate such traffic.

i also removed some files that might be confusing the algorithms, but nothing special - my files are relatively the same for years - some excel sheets that i update with data

Hi psharkov, thanks for messaging the Community.

Is it possible that any of your shared links could've been accessed by a large number of users which might've generated a lot of traffic?

This will help me to assist further!
