What are the bandwidth limits for sharing high-traffic files of large size?

I'll be uploading a zip to Dropbox within the next few days that is ~900MB-1GB. Within the first week it should see around 200-300 downloads, and in the first day possibly 100. While I'll have mirrors in other locations, this is the main service I'll be using to host and share the file. I'm curious to know which plan allows this kind of bandwidth so I don't run into any account issues or have the possibility of getting banned because of high traffic.

Can answer any further questions. Thanks in advance.

Hi there, sphereofnoform, thanks for joining the Dropbox Community!

Regarding bandwidth when sharing files through links, you'll find all the relevant info here.

Exceeding these limits would indeed cause your sharing ability to be paused, so make sure to keep an eye on it when sharing your files.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Dropbox probably wont work for you here I'm afraid as you are very likely to get banned with that volume of data being used: https://help.dropbox.com/share/banned-links

Dropbox isnt a content distribution system I'm afraid and as such does have very strict limits on it. The only plan which would probably work would be a Business one, but you would need 3 licences for it.

To also add that if a bandwidth restriction does occur you cannot remove it or have it cancelled, it will stay in place until its over - this is 24 hours for the first one and longer each time after. The other thing to just point out is it is a rolling 24 hours which can cause issues as well as it isnt like it automatically resets at a set point each day.

Thanks all, I'll be keeping an eye on it to ensure I don't exceed the limit. In which case I could switch out the download link for some period of time.

What I like especially about this platform, is that I have the ability to set up a link where the user isn't redirected to another page and instead it downloads immediately.

Note there is no tracking available via Dropbox to do this... so you cant really do it I'm afraid. Or if you hide it via bit.ly or similar and they land on Dropbox if they go more than once direct to Dropbox you'd not see the bandwidth used.

I understand, I must have confused it whenever I was looking in plan details and found "Transfer analytics".
