What is the Camera Uploads folder? Can I delete it?
A new folder "Camera Uploads" has recently appeared in my online acct but I don't know EXACTLY what I did wrong to create it. I did import pix on to the local HD using Picasa photo editor but must have specified somewhere to also upload to DropBox. Since it is more than 1GB this existing fldr must be removed and any new fldrs must be DELIBERATELY created to avoid a repetition. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanx.

Don't delete the Camera Uploads folder. It's a system folder and should be left alone. You can, however, delete everything in it if you're sure you don't need it.
The folder would have been created only by enabling the Camera Uploads feature, either in the Dropbox application or on the mobile app. It's used to automatically upload photos to your Dropbox; either those taken on a mobile device, or those that you chose to import into Dropbox from a USB drive, memory card, etc., on the desktop application.

If you used Dropbox Camera Uploads tool this is the folder they are automatically uploaded to - either from connecting a camera, mobile or external USB etc.
It isnt possible to specify what folder Camera Uploads use.

The Camera Uploads fldr has more than 1000 pix most (but not all) of which are useless. Is there an EZ way to select and delete multiple files rather than just one at a time ?

I'm dumbfounded. You mean to tell me that you cannot specify a specific folder to upload photos to? With an ultra-sophisticated app like Dropbox? Why the hell not?

Of course you can, when uploading manually, but if you use the automatic Camera Uploads feature, your photos and videos will always upload to the Camera Uploads folder.

Oh, thanks, that's a relief. An answer above stating "It isnt possible to specify what folder Camera Uploads use" led me to believe that all uploads of photos were limited to that one folder.
I do indeed want to upload manually. But when using the iOS Dropbox app, it looks like every picture has to be selected one by one to do a manual upload. Is there a way to select everything in the camera roll to manually upload?

No.
If you want everything in your camera roll uploading I'd strongly suggest using Camera Upload - as that's what its designed and intended for.
You can then always move them in to other folders after they've uploaded.
