The Camera uploads folder disappeared from Dropbox after upgrading Mac OS
After updating to Sequoia 15.5, the camera upload folder has disappeared from my Dropbox. I have tried reinstalling Dropbox on my phone, and on my Mac - all to no avail. My phone is no longer uploading photos to the dropbox on my Mac. It is uploading them if I go to my Dropbox account page on the internet, but I cannot transfer them to my Mac. Please advise anyone.
Hey Timandra! I'll definitely try my best to help you figure out this situation.
So, from your last reply and the screenshots you sent me I can understand that you've created a second Dropbox account and a second Dropbox Community profile.
If you take a look at your previous replies, you'll see that they're coming from a different Community profile and each profile can be linked with one Dropbox account, so it looks like you've created a second one.
Can you check if both your mobile devices are linked to different Dropbox accounts or the same one?
You can see that by opening the Dropbox app, tapping on "Account" and checking the name and email address of the linked account at the top of the screen.
I'm assuming this is something that might be related to the issue you're having and causing some confusion.

Hi Timandra, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Just for clarification, when you say that the camera uploads folder is missing, is it only missing when viewing the Dropbox folder in Finder and on your phone, or is it also missing on the Dropbox site?
Is it possible that you've enabled selective sync, to prevent the camera uploads folder from syncing to your computer?
This will help me to assist further!

It is only missing from my Mac - Dropbox starts up when the computer starts up - (icon in top right). (I have tried turning this off, but it doesn't change anything.) Photos are uploading from my phone to camera uploads folder, as normal, but the camera upload folder is not showing, it has disappeared when I click on the dropbox icon on the top. Camera uploads is on the website, (which I am currently doing, downloading one at a time, which is very time consuming). I haven't changed any settings at all. (Complete idiot when it comes to tech, sorry.)

I have checked selective sync in preferences - no camera uploads folder there either.

Hey Timandra, no worries, we'll get to the bottom of this.
Have you tried using the search option in your Finder to see if it can locate the folder? What do you see when you try?
- Timandra5 months agoExplorer | Level 4
Yup - tried that - nothing found. Not found in trash either.

Thanks for checking, Timandra, that's pretty strange indeed.
If the folder is in your account on the website and the mobile app, then it's not deleted; but it is strange that it's not in your local Dropbox folder, when you didn't select to remove it through the selective sync feature.
Just as a confirmation, can you please send us a screenshot of your selective sync settings? And if you could send another screenshot of your folders in your account online as well, it would be really helpful!

Hi - I'm having real problems with answering on here - page keeps jumping and I cannot leave a reply. Then it asked me to complete my registration (I thought I had!) I've now registered under my full name! That has worked and I can reply.
I tied uploading a photo from my old phone and lo and behold it worked. Camera upload folder appeared back again.
My present phone still isn't uploading to my Mac but it is to my account on the internet. I think it is an issue with my phone. It tells me to 'sync with my computer'. It asks me to go to dropbox.com/connect. I have scanned the image, but phone still is not connecting to my Mac.
So, I guess it maybe a problem with my phone and the Mac. I don't suppose you can help with that. If not, thank you for trying. Hopefully you can read this and maybe I may be able to reply! Tech isn't working for me at the moment.
I've given Dropbox camera access
So, I am at a loss. I'm pulling my hair out over this.
Regards
Timandra

Hi Hannah,
I don't think my last reply went through for some reason. Sorry.
Yes, that was the problem - for some reason my phone had added a Googglemail account.
I have set the phone up now with my other email account and all is working fine now.
Thank you so much for your help and patience - you solved the problem for me. It didn't help that my computer updated the OS system at the same time as me getting a new phone.
Thank you.😍
