Camera uploads
206 TopicsCan we have monthly folders for Camera uploads?
My proposal would help to sort the incoming photos in a proper way. I asked for an automatic creation of a folder like "2025_01" at the beginning of each month. The provider 1&1 Germany does it in this way. The photos should be filed into the monthly folders. Hence a better overview would be given.22Views0likes1CommentCamera Uploads: Back up all/new photos only setting
I went from a iPhone 11 to a iPhone 16 Pro a few months ago. I backed up photos to Dropbox before I moved everything to the new phone. Had issues with the new phone and Apple had me do a full factory reset, and then I was only able to download certain (minimal) apps from my cloud, to prevent the new phone from picking up anything old that might have caused the issues. This shouldn't affect my Dropbox app, since that is a separate cloud. But now when I back up photos, it is scanning my ENTIRE library of photos, which is many years worth, it seems, and it seems to want to download all of these photos, most of which are already in my Dropbox. I went to settings to see if selecting "Back up/New photos only" would solve this issue, but it only identifies new photos as of today, not the past couple of months since I got this phone. But then I looked at what's in my Camera Uploads folder, and there are photos from as recent as early December, but not current. With my old phone, Dropbox would only grab the new photos since last upload. So what am I doing wrong here?64Views0likes22CommentsHow can I upload my iCloud photos to Dropbox and keep the original dates?
I made a new photo library by pressing option while opening the photos-app on my MacBook. I then made a new library and made it my system library, synced it to iCloud and ownloaded all originales. I choose the location the be in my Dropbox and got a file called photolibrary.photoslibrary. When I open the file from my fines, my photos app is opens and the photos is shown like normal in the photos app. However when I try opening the file from my phone, it says it can not load the file. What should I do? I need more space on my phone and iCloud, because it is full24Views0likes6CommentsCan we upload live photos through Camera Uploads?
I can see lots of posts asking for support for Live Photos. I feel quite cheated that I have lost the ability to see these photos. As someone else has also posted, I have little snippets of my mother’s voice and movement that I have lost forever and she has passed away. Dropbox offer a photo sync service which means they need to solve for Live Photos, they have been around since 2015 so it’s not a new function. Please prioritise a solution to upload and then restore Live Photos.678Views2likes5CommentsScreenshots that are .png on my phone are not in camera uploads?
Hello, I saved a screenshot that is a png but it isn't showing up in my Dropbox? It's a document that needs to be saved on that date, but it isn't there on Dropbox, even though it is in my phone Gallery on that date. Can you help? Thank you37Views0likes5CommentsHow can I upload photos of my phone?
Storage on my phone is full. I want to save all my photos (10,000 or so) to dropbox and then delete them off my phone. Normally when I open the dropbox app on my phone, it automatically uploads my photos. I can see them on the app on my phone. I can see them on my dropbox web app. I have no idea what is happening with the photos in the 'camera uploads folder on my dropbox desktop app (it just seems to be uploading but never ends and the photos are all over the place. What can i do to free up phone storage and not lose my photos? Today my dropbox phone app wont upload any photos - it is saying 'your device storage is full, please delete some files and restart dropbox'. The answer to question 1 might help but if anyone has any tips on how to get the photos off my phone and permanently saved to dropbox it will be appreciated. Thanks48Views0likes5CommentsAlways have the option to automatically upload videos with camera uploads selected.
Please automatically upload videos from camera roll to Dropbox. Videos can be more precious than photos to users and this feature being optional with no prompt or notification to warn as such can cause great distress if missed. Most other platforms have this done automatically so users do not think to double check this presumably given feature. If you insist on this feature remaining please at least incorporate more notifications/banners to clearly show the user that it is off as a warning.Solved44Views0likes3CommentsHave camera uploads not change the original filenames and delete files when removed from phone.
I'd suggest to develop a better system for saving camera uploads in the cloud. Currently, the system only uploads pictures from your phone as they are, changing the name as an uploaded file. It would be better if it leaves the original names of the files in your devices. Additionally, it would be better to have it working as a security copy, in such a way that if a delete a picture from my device, it is also erased in my security copy or back up in Dropbox. Because currently my Dropbox uploads is getting extremely full with useless pictures from WhatsApp chats. So if I delete them from my phone I also have to delete them from the file in Dropbox, making it double work.16Views0likes1CommentHow to stop Dropbox from automatically uploading my new PC's Photos?
I just purchased a new Windows 11 computer. I used an external hard drive to transfer 900GB of files from my old computer to the new one and then disconnected that hard drive. Now Dropbox appears to be going through on my photos on the hard drive of the new computer and uploading them to my "Camera Uploads" folder. I get this message "Importing Photos about 39 hours left" from Dropbox for that process. I do NOT want the photos on my new PC's hard drive in Dropbox. How do I stop this automatic upload? I've changed the autoplay options in Windows 11 and that didn't help.Solved63Views0likes7CommentsHow to reset my camera uploads, I tried everything
Hi! I need to force the Android app to re-upload all the photos in my gallery. I set it up so it uploads everything, not just new photos, but it will only upload new items. I believe it recognizes older pics as "already uploaded" and I don't know how to reset this. I have already: -re-installed the app -deleted the cache memory -deleted all files in the Dropbox camera upload folder -restarted the device -even tried from a new device with a different SD card but with the same files in it Still, Dropbox will only upload new files. I also tried manually uploading but due to the fíes being cover 1500, the app never stops processing the files and never uploads anything. I'm on Android 12 and no other apps are set toSolved7.1KViews1like85Comments
