When will it be possible to make files online-only on Ubuntu?
With Windows 10 coming end of life many are switching to Ubuntu - whats the ETA for putting this functionality in Ubuntu dropbox app for online-only?

Hi pylornsâ,
Great question, online-only files need special support from the operating system to work safely and consistently.
Linux doesnât yet provide a standard way for apps to show files that live in the cloud but look local, so this feature isnât currently available on Dropbox for Linux.

Since the post you replied to was a bit old, I moved your question to a thread of its own.
Now, while there's no update we can provide regarding your question, and since making online-only files on Linux OS isn't possible, you can use selective sync instead.
Thank you for posting on our Community about this!
