There is no Dropbox on the phone. PC detects connection and uploads photos. Had been doing that for years. The App still connects and uploads in .heic not .jpg. I want to upload photos in .jpg.

HI stevethegil, as you're connecting the phone to your machine, you'll need to change the format using your iOS settings.
This article provides the steps on how to make this change.

It is screwed up. After doing the things in the article, I found that old photos in my camera upload folder were changed to .heic when originally .jpeg. I deleted everything in the folder, knowing I could get them back from iCloud. I change a setting in to New Photos and for some unknown reason it choose to upload some old photos in still .heic and some .png and .jpeg, mostly corrupt that could not be read in Windows. I cannot delete easily as something about being open in com surrogate. It ain't right.

Hey stevethegil, do you mean that after changing the settings in the article that Jay provided, the already uploaded photos were automatically converted from .jpg to .heic?
Is this what you see in your account online as well?
If so, you can use these steps to convert them back to your desired file type.
