Why can’t I invite someone to my shared folders?

Hi,

I run a Dropbox account for our local club of 25 members. it is the free basic account . we have a new member but I can't find now where you invite a new person , I can add their email address but that isn't the same as them getting an invite to reply to.

I always was able to invite new members , can someone please explain if anything has changed, and how yo invite someone

Many thc

  • Hey smeg246 thanks for posting here!

Do you get any errors when following these steps to invite the member to your shared folder?

Also, would you mind clarifying what you mean when you refer to "an invite to reply to"? What do you wish for them to achieve? When you add someone to be part of your shared folder, they can view, download and usually edit the files in it.

Let me know more, and we'll take it from there.

Basic accounts are personal accounts and only have one user. You can't invite others to the account. You can, however, invite them to join a shared folder that you have in the account. Is that what you're looking for?

Hi Megan, many thx for that, worked a treat.i created a shared folder called shed, this holds the clubs minutes, photos ,rules, members details etc

We allow committee members to edit and general members to view.

We are only 25in numbers and haven't had a new member for 2-3years, so I had forgotten how to add someone
