Does selective sync remove folders automatically due to lack of hard drive space?

Is it possible that Dropbox will change to selective Sync on its own when an PC runs out of space? Or does it prompt a user to do it themselves?

Hi Jkohli12! Welcome to our forum. 

 

Folders don’t get removed automatically from your Dropbox app, even when you run out of hard drive space on your computer. 

 

What will happen instead is that Dropbox and your computer will notify you that you’re running out of hard drive space, so that you may use selective sync and remove any large folders you don’t use on a regular basis from your device/local Dropbox folder.

      Hi Jkohli12, hope you don't mind me chiming in! 

       

      Yes, this feature should still be available depending on the plan, and device you choose. 

       

      It's usually turned on by default when your hard drive doesn't have a lot of space, I believe.
