Storage space
1287 TopicsLost 6.25GB (of 15GB) from my quota when compared to yesterday's total
I have been a BASIC Dropbox user for years (Maybe 10?). I had accumulated 15GB via new users I had recommended as well as other bonus storage - all in addition to the initial 2GB and more. Yesterday I cleaned up (deleted) several GB to reduce usage 1.1GB in order to upload about 12GB. Today I logged into Dropbox to finish my project and noticed I now have ONLY 8.75GB of the 15GB of yesterday. ... What am I missing here - other than the storage space? ;-) Help, please. ... thanks a million (rather, thanks 6.25 Gigs)35Views0likes5CommentsDropbox folder in Mac HD taking up most of the space
I'm migrating from an iMac with Mojave to a mini with Sequoia. Time machine run well and installed everything smoothly (of course I have to update some of the apps to the new OS). It looks like Sequoia is not allowing creating folders inside Macintosh hd, so my folders's structure has to be reorganized. There's an issue limiting my flexibility in managing the situation: my dropbox folder is taking up space in Macintosh HD > Users > My Name > Dropbox Any advice? Thank you!7Views0likes1CommentI'm told I'm running out of space, but I have no files on my Dropbox account.
Received this email from dropbox. I have a basic account with nothing in my Dropbox folder "A quick note: We’re reaching out to notify you of your limited Dropbox capacity" Why am I getting this message. Forcing users of shared folders to have enough storage space to make their uploads appears to be a bad design choice, which just so happens to encourage subscription upgrades. Having to send separate links for a File Request and a View-Only Folder is needlessly convoluted. Please create an option for the owner of a shared folder to exclusively take on the burden of file space. I should not have to send my clients two separate links just for them to upload a file and then view the folder they uploaded to (without them getting warnings about their own storage allotment or their uploads denied). This inconvenience is so great that I am considering migrating to a different cloud storage platform.11Views0likes1CommentBackups are taking up space in my account but cannot be found anywhere
My Dropbox shows that over 1GB of space is taken up by backups, but I can’t find any trace of them to delete. I’ve checked the web version, the Windows app, and the mobile app, but there’s no sign of any backups anywhere. The most frustrating part is that without a subscription, I can’t even contact support, and I’m almost certain I’ve gone through every possible setting to locate these backups. Yet, there’s absolutely no indication of where they are or how to remove them. Has anyone encountered this issue before? Is there any workaround to find and delete these invisible backups? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!Solved37Views0likes4CommentsI deleted files but still have no free storage space available
Hi all! I had filled my storage space with mostly photos, and when i ran out of space, i deleted all the photos. But it's still showing my storage as overfull! what's up with that? How do i regain my storage space once files are deleted? Thanks!25Views0likes3CommentsThe extra storage space from the upgrade isn't showing on my desktop app.
So I upgraded my account from 2TB to 3TB. And in the website it shows I have 3TB, yet on the desktop app when I click on 'manage hard drive space' it shows 2TB. Any idea if / when this will update or is there something I need to do? Thanks in advance!Solved28Views0likes2CommentsDropbox online-only consuming hard drive space on Windows
I set my Dropbox and folders to online only but it is still taking up the majority of my hard drive. The files are (also?) located on my c drive: C:\Users\JaneDoe\Dropbox. If I delete a folder from the C drive it deletes it everywhere. I'm not sure how to fix this as I have never had this problem before.Solved204Views0likes3Comments
