Storage space
631 TopicsI signed up via my friend's referral link, but our referrals show as ineligible.
I signed up using my friend's referral link but we both did not get the bonus storage. The referral page shows "ineligible". And we are using different computers and network. Really appreciate it if someone can help with the issue!27Views0likes3CommentsHow to free up space in my Dropbox account without losing any files on my computer?
Question or Issue Searching for almost an hour and it is WAY too confusing! I am over storage on Dropbox. Rarely use it anymore and there's a lot I want to delete ONLY IN THE DROPBOX CLOUD. I do NOT want to delete any original files on my computer, but I do want to delete the tons of duplicate files Dropbox created. (I have zero need for duplicate files clogging my storage.) So how do I do this? Dropbox instructions are incredibly confusing. Thank you. Basic plan, MAC.35Views0likes1CommentThe total storage used doesn't match the size of files I see under the All files page.
I'm trying to get my storage down below the 2 GB limit, to go back to the free plan. I've made sure to delete all public files and other folders I wasn't using. I now have only one folder of photos listed under All Files, and the total size listed is 885.1 MB. When I go under the Subscription page, though, it says I'm using 2.2 GB. I initially deleted a huge file of photos, and the total storage number went way down, but now as I try to get it down more, it's like the 2.2 GB won't budge. I've spent hours and hours trying to reduce what I don't need, and I just need to get over the finish line!! It's just so frustrating. Why don't those two numbers match? I just spent over an hour troubleshooting with the Chatbot, with no clear answer...Please help! (Also, why can't I email someone, when it says that's included with my plan?? Infuriating.)251Views0likes19CommentsI'm getting an 'out of space' message on Dropbox
I am using the free version of Dropbox on my Lenovo Windows 11 laptop. I have not uploaded any files in over a year. When I added files in January/February 2025, it indicated I had plenty of storage remaining. 25 days ago I began getting messages that I was over the storage limit. None of my devices are synced to Dropbox. I do not see any new photos/files in my profile. How can I be over my storage without having added any new files? Thanks in advance53Views0likes3CommentsI keep getting messages saying I'm out of storage, but my files aren't that large.
I keep getting messages that I am out of storage, but when I look at my files, they represent less than half of my limit (if I include the entirety of shared files). I have no backups that I'm aware of (or can access). I've been using the web browser rather than the app, on a Mac OS26.3 (although I have also been using web interface with a PC at work). I'm on the free plan. I was an early adopter of DropBox, and an early evangelist. My problems with storage are changing my mind.117Views0likes8CommentsBonus referral space not allocated, the email shows up as ineligible
Today, I tried to register a colleague on the Dropbox Basic free account and the email address now shows ineligible. The email address is correct. She downloaded Dropbox desktop while in my office - so yes, we were using the same IP address at the time but it was not being installed on the same machine! The web page didn't mention that this might be a restriction! We were in the same location because she has never used Dropbox before and required 'handholding'! How can we recover from this situation? Would uninstalling and reinstalling the Desktop App from her home location resolve the issue? Advice appreciated. Dropbox Plan Free Device Mac Operating System/Browser (if using the web) macOS Dropbox App Version (if using the app) Question or Issue Like many users I am getting the Team Storage error 2.65 gb of 2.0gb and I can't do anything to correct the error. I am the Admin btw. I have deleting all of the files that I have on line, although I deleted some of them from my Mac as opposed to doing it by logging on to Dropbox.com. I suspect that the problem may be because of what the team members (7 of us) are storing on their local machines. None of us are software experts, so we are doing our best to figure this out. (We are the Exec of a motorcycle enthusiast club and we use Dropbox to make our membership list and other documents available to the exec members.) I have been trying to figure this out on my own and have not had any success. I would appreciate Andy help and guidance that you can offer.
