Hello, I purchased the dropbox plus for the 2TB. I am uploading photos and vids to dropbox desktop app on my file explorer, however, I got a message saying my computer storage was running low on space (not the dropbox storage). Will that stop affecting my computer storage after it syncs? How do I make it so it only affects my dropbox storage and not my computer storage (since the point of me getting dropbox was to upload to a different storage). Thank You!14Views0likes1CommentDropbox is out of space and won't sync, but total space usage for folders is underquota
My dropbox space utilization is at 638 MB but Dropbox stopped syncing and says I have used 2.88 GB. I have already included shared folders in that calculation of space utilization and I do not use Dropbox backup. It feels like a ploy to frustrate to the point of getting me to upgrade. Does anyone have ideas on how to solve this issue? Here is an image with all my folders (see center of screen). The total space used when you add that up is about 640 MG. You can see in the lower left corner it says I have utilized 2.88 GB.16Views0likes1CommentCannot set files as online-only on new Windows 11 computer
Dropbox (Business account) installed on a new computer, and it won't set files as online-only; every file is available offline, which filled the memory on a brand new SDD. The .dropbox.cache was deleted and re-installation after restart, using selective sync to show only selected files (but not the files I need). Admin console shows that online only is the default. "Manage Hard Drive Space" doesn't work, because as soon as files are selected to be "online only", they go back to being available offline immediately. There is another computer I use that does NOT have this issue, only on new computer (Win 11 home, then upgraded to Win 11 Pro).37Views0likes8CommentsMy hard drive is full even though I've set my folder to be online-only
Agreed to the new Mac Folders and the sync tells me my hard drive is full and I have all of my folders set for Make online only. Everything shows clouds but when I check my hard drive utility it says all space is taken and normally half my drive is clear. I cleared cache but no help. This is the second time a full sync like this has happened in 2 days.Solved633Views0likes16CommentsI don't see all my files on www.dropbox.com and I'm running out of hard drive space.
I spent nearly 2 hours with customer support and they said they needed to escalate my case to someone else. The someone else sent me a link to the general Dropbox information to read through volumes of documents to figure it out myself. My hard drive is nearly full and when I go to delete files on my computer, I am being prompted to say the files will also be deleted from Dropbox. What the??? Can anyone help me? I am at wits end. Also, when I click on the shortcut on my homepage, I can see all of my files. When I go to Dropbox.com, none of them are there. I am missing something here...help!!213Views0likes2CommentsDropbox keeps forgetting online-only settings
I'm a very long time user of dropbox and I'm ready to quit. I have some very large folders - 30GB or more that I keep setting to online-only. Then a few days later I'm out of disk space and I find that the files are taking up actual disk again. I change the folders to online only and the space clears for a few days, then the cycle starts again. During this time Dropbox is also working continuously. Is there a solution?327Views0likes7CommentsWhy do my Dropbox files also take up space from my hard drive?
OK I know this probably seems like a dumb question, but bear with me... I am cleaning up storage on my PC and I see that Dropbox is taking up a huge chunk of memory on my hard drive. But I thought Dropbox was in the cloud. What gives? Is everything I put into Dropbox being saved to two places?602Views0likes4CommentsTo upload 200 GB of files, do I need to use my hard drive space?
I purchased the business plan. My question is very specific: to upload 200 GB of information, do I have to use the space on a device? What happens if I don't have space on that device? Can't I simply upload it to the cloud, like a server, without using the capacity of my computer?374Views0likes5CommentsIs it possible to have some files as online-only and others as available offline?
Hi all I use a Plus account (2TB dropbox space) I am currently syncing the desktop app on a 1TB drive. It seems that currently all of my dropbox files are synced on top of the hard disk. consuming too much space. I want to move only part of my content to "online-mode" (infrequently accessed files) and keep the daily-access files on the physical disk. Given this structure: Dropbox/folder-a - 1 GB Dropbox/folder-b - 2 GB Dropbox/folder-c - 4 GB Dropbox/folder-d - 8 GB Is it possible to have for example a and c accessible off-line (consuming disk space) while b and d are "not stored locally" so the total space consumed in Dropbox is 15 GB but the space actually consumed in the hard drive is 5 GB?284Views0likes3Comments
