Basically anything at www.dropbox.com/home and www.dropbox.com/backups uses up space. So to get space back you need to remove things from there.

Thanks for that…..I’m away from my computer at the moment but I’ll look into that and let you know - GedC3 years agoExplorer | Level 4
Hi Mark
Apologies for the delay.....I've been away
I seem to be struggling to get rid of things.....I found there were loads of things in the 'Shared' section so I have been going through them and unsharing them....then going to the 'Deleted files' section and permanently deleting those........after doing that it's telling me two different things.....on the one hand it says I'm using 1.8 of 2GB...and on the other hand it says I've used 128% of my limit.......so not sure where to go from here.

Hi GedC, happy Monday!
You mentioned that you see two different quota numbers. Can you send me a screenshot of your plan page, in order for me to have a visual of what you see there?
Keep me posted!

Hi Megan
Photo attached to show what I see on the plan page
Most of my plan is taken up with shared files although I had been deleting the original folders
I have deleted quite a lot of these at the weekend.......I looked for additional info and it was suggested they could be held in the cache......will that automatically clear itself out?I read somewhere that it would after 3 days.
Ged.
