Dropbox removing external disk support for Mac users
In case anyone's unaware... if you're a Mac user storing your Dropbox on an external drive, you'll shortly lose that ability.

- 2 years agoHi Everybody,We’re excited to share that external drive support for Dropbox for macOS on File Provider is now available for testing as a beta feature. This is available to some users today and will be available to additional users on a rolling basis. In order to be eligible to test this feature, please follow the instructions in this Help Center article.Keep in mind that participation in beta programs is subject to the certain terms and conditions. There are certain additional participation requirements:
- This beta is only available to US-based users
- You must be on macOS 15 beta
- You must have an external drive that is APFS formatted and encrypted
Please let me know if you have any further questions!

pampy I know right. They are gracing us with their presence. Shame they haven't been doing that the last 18 months.
I thought the comment from apfund is hilarious; "I'm also sharing everything I see and read here internally and will make sure that your voice is heard." We've all been screaming at the top of our voices to get someone to listen to us and nobody has. So apfund you are about to lose a load of customers, you know, those people that help pay your wages.
That'll fall on deaf ears, just like every other comment made on here or to them.

3 years agoI just reverted internally and I can only give you the same update that was written in this post.
I can confirm that our team is actively working on this issue and I apologize for not being able to provide you with a clear timeline.

The above is exactly why you’ll lose customers. - UKD3 years agoExperienced | Level 12
apfund I didn't wish to have a go at you but this has been such a frustrating time for us that we didn't need the party line answer but an honest upfront answer. This is why some of us are looking elsewhere. The lack of info, the same old answers or no answers even and no clear roadmap.
